Amazing place. Never had a bad time here. People are friendly and the food is really good too. Don't forget the soup. It's reasonable price too. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a quick place for lunch and found this amazing deli. The staff were exceptionally friendly and courteous, they were very patient when we asked questions and made us feel welcome. The baked potato with Pedro's Chili, cheddar cheese and banana peppers. The potato was soft and was not over or under cooked. Perfect Potato. The chili was just a regular ground beef chili that had good flavor but was not spicy. Perfect for lunch. The hot turkey, bacon, and cheddar was excellent. The bread was soft and light. The turkey was good and the bacon was crumbles, an excellent masterpiece. The pasta salad was also amazing. The price is excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for a quick lunch.

Amazing, amazing food. Everything here is excellent. The food is good, salad bar is good, service is quick. What else could I wish for? That they were open on Sunday! You wouldn't believe how many times I drove there only to realize it was Sunday and they were closed.

Pretty good deli...sandwich bread was very soft & fresh. Great choices in sandwiches, salad bar, and their goodies like ice cream. A little bit of a cafeteria-feel but clean and fast service.

Homey deli. Lots of choices. Good food. Great for kids. Clean. Healthy options. My only complaint is that it is loud at lunch time.

Arthur's Garden Deli is a Rock Island landmark! Nothing about it has changed in over a decade, from the decor to the menu to the line out the door at lunch time. I don't think the sandwiches at Arthur's are the best I've ever eaten. They don't even come close. They're decent though, and come in generous portions. I really like the variety of soups available on a daily basis. There are a few staples, and a few that rotate in and out. Today I had a chicken and dumpling that was pretty good. Pasta salads are another solid choice that are always available. The salad bar is large and always fresh. I have noticed that their Coke fountain seems to be perfectly calibrated. If you're in Rock Island looking for soup, salad, and sandwiches, you can't go wrong with Arthur's! I've never had a bad meal here.

Welp. What can a fella say about this place? I've had just about everything you can get from Arthur's over the years. (Side note, in 5th grade I got "arrested" in the parking lot. True story. My parents were trying to scare me. Oh the memories!) Their baked potatoes are fantastic. Same with pretty much all their sandwiches. OH and the pasta salad?? Get right out of town. Best in QC. That being said... the food is never "to die for." You know the feeling when you bite into something and it makes you melt in your chair? That doesn't happen here, but the food is good!

I was introduced to this gem several months ago and I am hooked! Love their sandwiches and quiche!

It's been a while since I ate at here. But the food has not changed a bit. Always fast and friendly.

Arthur's is the best deli I have ever eaten at. They have an extensive menu with something for everyone. I've been coming here since I was a toddler and 20 years later it's still one of my favorite places. They have the freshest vegetables of anywhere I've ever been. Their salad bar has the best parmesan peppercorn dressing in the world! Their sandwiches have soft fluffy bread and they take the time to heat up (not toast) the bread, meat, and cheese but keep the veggies and sauce cool. Their baked potatoes are loaded- not stingy with their toppings! Frozen yogurt is a healthy, fat free treat! I've never had a thing there I didn't like!

Best deli in the Quad Cities! Whenever I am visiting, I plan a stop here. The bread is always so fresh, soft and a little sweet (almost like a Hawaiian bread). My favorite is the ham and swiss, but they have a great selection of sandwiches, soups, salads and baked potatoes with all the toppings. For dessert, be sure to grab a frozen yogurt with fresh fruit or candy toppings.

Hubby and I were headed back home (Chicago suburbs) after a getaway at a river cabin. Thanks to Yelp, we found Arthur's. Honestly, it's such an unassuming place that it probably wouldn't have caught our eye otherwise - the reviews were what turned the car around. We're so glad we stopped! The turkey, bacon, cheddar sandwich (melted) was SO good. Hubby had the Work of Art (I think that's the name) and loved that, too. My trip to the salad bar was great. I wish we had a gem like this nearer to home! I'd have a different sandwich from there every day. I'm kind of bummed that we didn't buy a treat (homemade peanut butter cups or other chocolate goodies) for the ride home. Next time we're in the area, we're definitely stopping in again!

My first love of this place goes back to the original shop , I think it was in Dixon, IL, just happen to stumble across it . So when they came to the QC I was already a fan. Fresh food, large area to sit and a good staff of employees that are willing to go an extra mile for you. A lot of food for the money.

Sometimes, you just crave Arthur's. It's a lot like standing in the lunch line at school, but the simplicity of this place is what makes it so great. Nothing fancy, just well made sandwiches, pasta salads ,and soups. ( I can't speak for their baked potatoes.) It's a great place to meet someone for lunch, because it's sure to please everyone.

I love Arthur's - a unique place to come when you are in the Quad Cities! It's definitely better than a Subway or Jimmy John's. They have all different sanwiches and potatoes to choose from, a salad bar, pasta salads and fruit for your sides, and yogurt and other sweets for dessert! This place gets packed - it's hard to find seats when they are busy. Overall they do a nice business, and it's very fairly priced for what you get!

Today's visit was not good. Brown lettuce, no iced tea. The Ranch dressing was empty. When the young man refilled it he did so with the wrong dressing. It will be awhile till I go back. I do love the Pasta Florentine soup however!

I LOVE AURTHUR'S DELI!!! I was even referred to as a "regular" the last time I visited. I talk about this place with those who care to listen in Fort Lauderdale and wish the owner's would consider opening a restaurant here. Nothing seems to say your home town like a visit to Authurs' Deli. The staff is polite, the food is amazing.. even leftover!! Swear I gain 10lbs on $20 worth of food!!! And I still cant get enough! LOVE THIS PLACE! When I lived and worked in the Quads as a server at another restaurant, I recommended this deli to visitors. YES IT IS THAT GOOD! The Arthur's Choice, Potato soup/cheese soup half and half with the vegi pasta.. TOO much for one person to eat. Blows all others out of the Mississippi river mud!! lol:) enjoy!!!!

Hands down BEST DELI IN THE QC. There I said it. Don't try and argue with me folks. I mean business when it comes to Arthur's and my obsession runs deep. So, when we rolled up there was a big 'ol bus out front with a ton of high school kids in line. You know what? Arthur's handled it like pros- being high school kids themselves! Yes, their eyes were a little big and I could hear them kind of freaking out under their breath but they kept that line movin' and that is all that matters. I am obsessed with: - Salad bar - Fro- Yo - Hot Veggie Sammie - Yummy white bread - Tuna Salad - Fresh Veggie Pasta Salad that is made fresh daily! This is one of stops we must make while back in the QC. Love it!

The best sandwich shop around! Quick service & yummy food. They have a lot of regulars!

Arthur's is always a good change of pace from the fast food joints that are far too many in the QC. You'll see everyone eating here--old folks, college kids, families, construction workers on lunch break. My regular order: pizza sub, chips, and a Barq's root beer from the bottomless soda fountain. Another reviewer mentioned her attempt to recreate an Arthur's sub at home, and it's been the same fruitless experience for me. Try as I might, this very simple sandwich can only be done by the kids behind the counter. It's a nice location, too, looking out over the Rock River valley. Be careful if you're turning left onto 38th Street when leaving--the cars coming over the top of the hill are moving very quickly.

  • Joshua W.

The sandwiches in this place are amazing!! Only gripe is with the price...Honestly I can't see myself paying over $10 for a sub, but these are so spectacular that I almost don't care. Try the frozen yogurt it is awesome too!

Arthur's (the RI location, anyway) offers a wide variety of sandwiches, soups, and even quiche. They have a good-sized salad bar where everything always seems fresh. Customer-accessible beverages, so free refills on all fountain drinks. I pretty much always get the appropriately-titled "Work of Art" sandwich plus sometimes the salad bar so I can't comment on much of the menu, but I really don't know anyone who has eaten here and hasn't liked it. Highly recommended for sandwiches and beyond. The only strike I can think of is that their parking lot is kind of tough to get in / out of at certain times. The lot entrance / exit is in the middle of a good-sized hill with a stoplight at the bottom, and the line of cars that quickly appears when that light turns red can really get in the way and reduce visibility.

A little bit off of I-80, but worth it if you are sick of fast food on your road trip. Fresh salad bar. Decent selection of sandwiches - they come toasted, so keep in mind to ask for it untoasted if that is your preference. Giant frozen yogurt waffle cones.

Arthur's is a QC staple! Their bread is delicious and their soups are great too. I've been going here since I was a kid. There's a reason it's been around so long!

Excellent place! I don't always go for the food because I only have eyes for the frozen yogurt. But the baked potatoes are delicious, the sandwich rolls are my favorite and I always have lovely experiences. Definitely worth checking out.

Another good deli place to stop with the kids off of I-80. There is something for everyone. Soup, pasta salads, salad bar, hot and cold sandwiches, desserts, chips and ice cream with all the toppings! You walk in (usually to a line), grab your tray and order like you're in elementary school again except with teenage kids serving you and a much better selection! My personal favorite is the chicken noodle soup and the warmed up turkey on a floured bun, the cheddar cheese melts so perfectly with the fresh tomatoes, oregano and shredded lettuce.

Good sandwich, really good potato salad!! I really wanted the sandwich and salad bar but I felt like paying almost $5 extra for a side salad was a little high... I really likeed the frozen yogurt!!

Unique deli in the quad cities! It is simply the best!! Can't go wrong with the Arthur's choice and a baked potato!!!

I hated almost everything about living in the Quad Cities. One of the very few things that I do actually miss though, is Arthur's. My husband has been trying to recreate an Arthur's sandwich for me at home and it's pretty good... but nothing will ever compare. I love you Arthur's. I can only give them 4 stars out of 5 though, for two small reasons. 1. They are not open on Sundays. Seriously, what the hell? 2. The Rock Falls location only takes cash and local check, so don't try to pay with a debit or credit card. Who has cash on them anymore? They will gladly give you directions to the nearest ATM (at the gas station across the street).

Get ready to wait in line for 20 minutes...and have it be absolutely worth it. Arthur's is incredibly popular, especially with the Augustana College crowd. Any sandwich, soup, potato that you get will absolutely make your day. I love this place. Free refills on drinks, also, if you're coming in off the interstate, it's right next to the state park, so you can get a little history about the area too!

Mediocre sandwiches run by a bunch of high-school kids.

Huge huge fan of the Arthur's Deli. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. The sandwiches are great, and come in two sizes -- your typical 6" sub-type sandwich or on a round homemade bun. They have a bazillion kinds of soup everyday. Okay, not a bazillion, but usually five or six soups to choose from, tons of baked potato styles, an expansive fresh salad bar, and all kinds of fun extras like a frozen yogurt stand, pasta salads, a huge variety of chips and dessert items, all a la carte. My favorite part about Arthur's sandwiches is that the meat/cheese side of the sandwich is always warm and melty-delicious and the veggie portion is always cool. It's good for a to-go, but I also love going inside and sitting, too. Beautiful high ceilings, and a carnation at every table. If you consider it a view, you can sit at the window seats and gaze upon the traffic on John Deere Road or at the ever-busy K-Mart. One small note of caution -- their soda sizes are very small. If you order a small soda, expect to get what appears to be child-sized, but don't fret -- if you're eating there, you can refill it as often as you'd like.
